Inc. magazine
ranked Agromin as one of the country's fastest growing private companies in its
fifth annual Inc. 500|5000 (September 2011 issue). Agromin was ranked 65th in
environmental services (10th in California) and 4,112 overall. Agromin
manufactures earth-friendly soil products for farmers, landscapers and
gardeners using renewal organic material from over 50 California communities.
It is one of the largest organic recyclers in the state.
To qualify
for consideration, companies had to be
U.S.-based, privately held, for profit and independent—not subsidiaries or
divisions of other companies. Inc.
ranked companies based on three-year growth from 2007 through 2010. During
that period, Agromin experienced a 29 percent growth in revenue from $11.6
million to $14.9 million while adding 21 new jobs.
The
companies on the Inc. 5000 reported creating 350,000 jobs in the past three
years "While large corporations were shedding jobs, small businesses were
adding them. The accomplishments of those on this list prove that innovation
and job creation comes from smaller companies," says Bill Camarillo,
Agromin CEO. "Agromin is honored to be recognized."
